Which Comes First, the Chicken or the Egg?
(Form vs. Function)

Have you ever been surfing the web and found a site that is very graphically intriguing, but it is tough to navigate? Have you seen an ad in a magazine that is indeed, beautiful, but it doesn't read quite right? Or better yet, those witty, memorable ads that you see on tv, but then ask yourself, “Wait, what were they selling?”

This brings up an age old discussion. Which should come first-- form, or function? At Riddick, our strategic planners work with our creative team to provide an end product that is both graphically attractive AND extremely functional. We believe that the “discovery” phase of a project is very important, so that we fully understand our client's objective. In the advertising world, many times graphic and web designers come up with something that is very pleasing to the eye, but they don't think about what is more important, the purpose of the project itself.

Don't get us wrong, we at Riddick love “sexy” advertising and marketing campaigns. (Don't we all!) But the overall function of each piece is what our clients are actually paying for. We have the ability to create amazing work that provides our customers excellent ROI. We measure and track the results of our projects as well.

All in all, we value function first, then form, at Riddick. That way, you end up with an end product that is extremely functional, creative, and well-designed.
